The drop is a characteristic feature of electronic music and should ideally make for the first wow moment in a track. The aim is to create a great impact, which is often realized by crafting a build-up that peaks in a break or collapses before letting the main beat set in.
In this workshop, HOFA tutor Joshua builds an example of what a typical build-up and drop for a drum 'n' bass track might look like and gives tips on how to work with instruments, frequencies and effects to create tension and energy.
